“If there is something to desire”

by Vera Pavlova

translated from the Russian by Steven Seymour

If there is something to desire,
there will be something to regret.

If there is something to regret,
there will be something to recall.

If there is something to recall,
there was nothing to regret.

If there was nothing to regret,
there was nothing to desire.

And what is about the desire to look at you smiling and look at a sunrise ???…. Only recalling memories and satisfying about souvenirs …??? …. what about curiosity , about amazings, about wonderings ????
The "right" ending is not : << there was nothing to desire ….>> but << there is NOTHING to fear and scare or worry … >> NO ?
